| Traffic restrictions through Tyne Tunnel
|
|
Work currently underway at the Tyne Tunnel means that lane restrictions through the tunnel will be in operation for the next 12 weeks.
The restrictions will be in place each Monday to Friday between 6pm and 9am with traffic being allowed access alternating between the north and south entrances.
The restrictions are to enable concrete repairs to be carried out under the road deck and, although workmen may not be visible, they will be using manhole covers in the road for access and the restrictions are necessary for health and safety reasons.
